The primary objectives the Research and Innovation Cell in DC School of Architecture and Design are as follows:
- Foster a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship among students and faculty by providing financial and infrastructural support to transform innovative ideas into tangible products and solutions.
- Conduct cutting-edge research in key areas such as Conservation, Cost-effective Building Materials, Contour Studies, and Energy-efficient Buildings, with a focus on developing sustainable and environmentally friendly architectural practices.
- Cultivate strong academic and research collaborations with reputed institutes and industries to facilitate knowledge exchange, interdisciplinary research, and real-world application of innovative architectural solutions, thereby contributing to the advancement of the field on a global scale.
Plan of Action:
- Establish structured mentorship programs connecting students with industry experts and seasoned professionals to guide them through the process of ideation, research, development, and implementation of innovative projects.
- Organize regular workshops, seminars, and conferences focusing on emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in the field of architecture and design, providing students and faculty with opportunities for skill enhancement and knowledge sharing.
- Develop collaborative research projects with external partners, including industry leaders, governmental organizations, and research institutions, to tackle real-world challenges and address pressing issues in the realm of architecture and sustainable development. These partnerships will not only enrich the academic experience but also facilitate the translation of research findings into practical solutions with societal impact.
